Cut 7 spokes from 5/8" FF each 22" long. Dampen the spokes. Mark the center of the handle and all spokes on the wrong side. Insert the 7 spokes into the slot in the handle, spacing them evenly. Bend the spokes up. Using clamps or clothespins to hold each spoke together at the top is helpful. You can remove the clamps after 2-3 rows of weaving.

Weave 19 rows start & stop with 3/8" FF. The first row will be woven on the outside of the handle. Keep adjusting the spacing of the spokes as you weave.

Pack well, cut and tuck spokes. Rim with 5/8" FF inside and outside, seagrass between rims, and lash with 7mm FF.

Finishing Your Basket: If you plan to stain your completed basket, do so before tying on the red ribbon & greenery. The basket pictured was stained with Oak Weaver's Stain.
