Assemble the base and handle.

Cut 34 spokes from 5/8" FF each 10" long. Insert into the groove of the base 17 spokes on each side of the handle. If the groove in your base is too narrow to insert the spokes, run sandpaper around the groove several times and/or sand down the ends of each spoke (you want a tight fit).

Twine 7 times around the base with #2 R. End off the round reed. Gently upset the spokes. Weave 6 rows start and stop with 3/16" FO and 7 rows 3/8" FF.

Pack well. Cut and tuck spokes and rim with 5/8" FO, #6 R between rims, and lash with 3/16" FO.
