Cut 18 spokes each 14" long using 3/4" flat flat.

Place the 3/4" spokes (9 on each side of handle) into the groove of the base. Chase weave with #3R around the base until you reach the handle. Bend up the spokes.

Weave 1 row 7/8" Navy. Before continuing, lash with cane your "X's" over each spoke. Secure off the ends of your cane. Continue with 1 row of 3/8" Red, 1 row 3/8" Natural until you have 11 rows of 3/8", alternating Red & Natural. Beginning and ending with Red. Weave 1 row of 3/4" (rim row). Cut and tuck the spokes. Use 7/8" Navy for inside and outside rims and seagrass as filler. Lash "X's" over each spoke with cane, matching the bottom "X's".

To complete your drum, add 1/4" Navy vertical-angled overlays. See photo for placement.

Cut 14 spokes each 10" long using 3/8" Flat Flat. The basic method is the same as the 10" Drummer Boy except you will alternate 15 rows 1/4" Flat Flat - beginning and ending with Red. Overlays are #3 Round Navy.


For the 4" Drum (not pictured) you will need:

3/8" Flat Flat Dyed Navy - bottom weaver & rims
13 rows of Red and Natural 11/64" Flat Flat (start and end with Red)
1/4" Flat Flat - rim row
