Materials
5/8" Flat Flat - spokes 1/2" Flat Flat - inner/outer rims & 1 row weaving #2 Round - twining 11/64" Flat Oval - lashing Large Heart w/Strawberries or Blueberries Basket Buckle ®	3/8" Flat Flat - weavers 1/4" Flat Flat - weavers dyed red or blue Double Wire "SL" handle - red or blue wood grip Seagrass

Basket Size: 3 1/2"w x 7"l x 5"h (not including the handle)

Cut 7 spokes each 5/8" FF each 19" long and 3 spokes from 5/8" FF each 23" long. Also cut 2 filler spokes from 5/8" FF each 13" long. Mark the centers of several spokes and filler spokes. Layout the 3 long spokes horizontally alternating with the 2 filler spokes. Weave in 1 center spoke vertically starting over the horizontal spoke and under the filler spokes. Weave in 3 more spokes on each side of this center spoke. Adjust base to 7"l x 3 1/2"W. Fold the filler spokes to the inside of the base. Create "chicken feet" by cutting the filler spoke ends in half lengthwise.

Tuck these under the 2nd row of base weaving (5/8" spoke) on each side of the filler spoke. Trim off any excess. Repeat on the other end. Twine one time around base with #2 Round. Upset the spokes.

Weave 3 rows start and stop with 3/8" FF, 1 row 1/4" FF red or blue, 3 rows of 3/8" FF. Now weave 1 row of 1/2" FF, weaving the buckle onto this row. The Basket Buckle ® must be over the center spoke. If not, weave 1 more row of 3/8" FF. (I also added an overlay of 1/4" FF red or blue). Continue to weave 3 more rows 3/8" FF, 1 row 1/4" FF red or blue, 1 row 3/8" FF (rim row).

Pack well. Cut and tuck spokes. Rim with 1/2" FF inside and outside, seagrass between the rims, and double lash with 11/64" FO.

To attach the handle: Create a space under the rim on each side of the middle spoke and gently spread the double wires. Insert the wire from the outside of the basket inward, and bend the wire up over the rim and back down to the outside.
