Materials
5" Round Top Oak Easy Flex handle 1/2" Flat Flat - spokes & rims 3/8" Flat Flat - filler spokes #2 Round - twining 3/16" Flat Oval - lashing	Seagrass - rim filler 7mm Flat Flat - weavers 1/4" Flat Flat red & green - weavers Red Ribbon & Bell Pkg.

From 1/2"FF cut 8 spokes 24" long. From 3/8"FF cut 2 filler spokes 11" long.

Mark the center of several spokes and filler spokes. Layout 3 spokes horizontally, alternating with the 2 filler spokes. Line up the center marks. Weave in 1 center spoke vertically starting under the center horizontal spoke and over the filler spokes. Weave in 2 more spokes on each side of the center spoke. Adjust base to 4" long x 2 1/2" wide. Fold the filler spokes to the inside of the base and tuck under the 3rd spoke of base weaving. Twine 2 times around the base with #2R. Upset the spokes.

Weave the following rows start and stop (keep the spokes straight to accommodate the 5" handle):

2 rows 7mmFF, 1 row 1/4"FF green, 1 row 1/4"FF red, 17 rows 7mmFF,
1 row 1/4"FF red, 1 row 1/4"FF green, 2 rows 7mmFF.

Measure often - top must be 5" long.

Pack well, cut and tuck spokes. Insert the handle. Rim with 1/2"FF inside and outside, seagrass between rims, and lash with 3/16"FO. If you plan to stain your basket, do so before attaching the ribbon and bells. (I used Clear Weaver's Stain).

The ribbon will be woven on the 7mmFF row just below the rim. A small straight tip WeaveRite tool will be helpful in treading the ribbon through. Starting at the center spoke, leave approximately a 12" tail of ribbon and weave the ribbon around the basket. Adjust the length of the ribbon and tie a bow in front of the center spoke. Thread the end of the ribbon through the eye of the bell - a tapestry needle is helpful. Make a knot at the end of the ribbon to secure the bell. Repeat with the other bell. A drop of Maxi Cure glue on the reed and knot of the bow will help to keep the bow in place.
