From 1/2" FF cut 30 spokes 9" long and cut 2 spokes from 3/4" FF 9" long. Mark the center of the base (4"). I found it easier to attach the ball feet after the basket is completed. If the groove in your base is too narrow to insert the spokes, run sandpaper around the groove several times, and/or sand down the ends of each spoke (you want a tight fit). Insert 1 of the 3/4" FF spokes at this center mark, and do the same on the opposite side of the base (this gives you a choice as to which side of the basket you want to tie on the Penguin Basket Buckle). Insert the 1/2" FF spokes around the base - 8 on each side, 5 on the short ends, and 1 in each corner. (I like to glue in my spokes with Maxi Cure Glue).

Weave 2 rows start and stop with 3/16" FO, keeping the spokes flat. Gently upset the spokes and continue to weave start and stop for 23 more rows with 3/16" FO. This will be a total of 25 rows.

Pack well before cutting and tucking spokes. Rim with 1/2" FO, seagrass between, and lash with 3/16" FO. Attach the ball feet with the screws. Stain you basket before adding embellishments.

Tie the Penguin Basket Buckle ® on with the black ribbon. Glue on the plastic snowflakes with a hot glue gun. Pull apart a cotton ball and lightly glue it onto the basket to give the appearance of "snow".
