Materials
5/8" Flat Flat - Spokes 7mm Flat Flat - filler spokes #2 Round - twining 3/16" Flat Oval - lashing	3/8" Flat Flat - weaver 5/8" Flat Oval - Rims Seagrass - rim filler 1 pair 10" leather straps

Base Size: 10" x 10" Square; Height: 9 1/2"; Top Diameter: 14 1/2"

Cut 22 spokes each 35" long using 5/8" FF, and 10 filler spokes each 16" using 7mm FF. Mark the centers of several spokes and filler spokes on the wrong side. Lay out 11 spokes horizontally alternately with 10 filler spokes. Line up center marks. Weave in 1 center spoke vertically starting over the horizontal spoke and weaving under the filler spokes. Weave in 5 more spokes on each side of this center spokes. Adjust base to 10" x 10" square. Fold the filler spokes to the inside of the base. Create "chicken feet" by cutting these filler spoke ends in half lengthwise.

Tuck these under the 2nd row of base weaving (5/8" spoke) on each side of the filler spoke. Trim off any excess. Repeat on the other end. Twine one time around base with #2 R. Upset the spokes.

Weave 22 rows of start and stop using 3/8" FF, allowing the spokes to flare out slightly.

The leather straps will be attached to the rim row. Attach the straps by counting in 4 spokes from each corner. These will be your "handle spokes". Slip 3/8" FF through the loop on the ends of the strap as you weave in the rim row (you will have 3 spokes in between the "handle spokes"). These "handle spokes" must be spokes that will be cut off flush (if not, add one more row of weaving).

Pack well. Cut and tuck spokes. Rim with 5/8" FO, seagrass between rims and double lash with 3/16" FO, compressing the leather straps.
