Cut 24 spokes each 8" long from 3/8" FF. Mark the center of your base (3"). Also mark the center on the round ends which will be your handle spokes. Soak the spokes briefly. Insert a spoke at the center mark (3") and at each rounded end (handle spokes). Insert the remaining spokes - 5 on each side of the 3" center mark. Repeat on the opposite side. Because the spokes will be bent up immediately, I glued in all my spokes. Dry fit each spoke, then remove one at a time and glue it in. If the groove in your base is too narrow to insert the spokes, run sandpaper around the groove several times, and/or sand down the ends of each spoke (you want a tight fit).

Dampen the spokes before upsetting them. Weave straight up 16 rows start ans stop with 7mm FF. Check often to be sure your handle will fit. Remember, your base is 6" long and your handle is also 6", so your spokes must come up straight.

Pack well, cut and tuck spokes. Insert the handle. Rim with 3/8" FO outside and 3/8" FF inside, seagrass between rims, and lash with 11/64" FO.

Stain your basket before attaching the Loveable Angel to your center spoke.
