Using 3/4" FF, cut 14 spokes each 22" long. Layout 7 spokes and weave in 7 spokes. Square up base to measure 8 1/4" x 8 1/4". Weave in a "holding row" of 7mm FF, mitering the corners. Upset the spokes and weave 9 rows of 3/8" FF of start and stop, making sure your basket goes from a square base to round at the top. The top diameter should be approximately 10 1/2". Determine your handle placement by finding the two opposite sides where the center spokes will be cut off flush, and the spokes on either side will bend over the extending rods. Cut and tuck the spokes. Rim with 1/2" FO, seagrass between, and last with 3/16" FO. Spray with your favorite shade of Weaver's Stain. |
