From 5/8" FF cut 7 spokes 43" long and 11 spokes 37" long. From 3/8" FF cut 6 filler spokes 22" long. Soak briefly.
Mark the center of several spokes & filler spokes on the wrong side. Layout 7 spokes (43") horizontally alternating with the 6 filler spokes. Line up the center marks. Weave in 1 center spoke vertically starting over the center spoke and weaving under the filler spokes. Weave in 5 more spokes on each side of the center spoke. Adjust base to 12 3/4" x 7". Fold the filler spokes to inside of the base and tuck under the 3rd spoke of base weaving. Trim off any excess. Twine 2 times around the base with #2 R. Upset the spokes. Weave 25 rows start and stop with the 3/8" FF. Keep the spokes up straight and don't let the corner spokes slant. The length of the basket at the top should be 14" to accommodate the handle (measure often). Weave 1 row 7mm FF (rim row). Pack well. Cut and tuck spokes. Insert the handle, rim with 1/2" FO, seagrass between rims, and lash with 7mm FF. Cut 3 pieces of 1/2" FO each approximately 7" long for reinforcements on the bottom of the basket. Wet the pieces to straighten, and taper both ends. Refer to photo for placement. |

| If you plan to stain your basket, do so before attaching the wreath. I used Clear Weaver's Stain.
