Cut 20 spokes from 1/2" FF each 6 1/2" long. Dampen spokes. Evenly space the spokes around base making sure you have a center spoke directly across from each other for your "handle spoke". All weaving will be start and stop. Weave 3 rows 11/64" FO keeping the spokes flat. Gently upset spokes and weave 2 more rows 11/64" FO (total of 5 rows), then 10 rows 3/16" FO, 2 rows 11/64" FO dyed, 1 row 7mm FF (rim row). Pack well, cut, and tuck spokes - don't forget to put the eyelets on the center spokes. Rim with 3/8" FO, seagrass between rims, and lash with 11/64" FO. Attach wire handle. |
